I opened it with emergency open hole and then inserted a dvd and closed it. Anyone have any idea on what I should do next? What are the steps to replace the power connector board? I use a 3G data card for Internet connectivity often and I always notice that the data card gets hot and maybe the line also gets heated making the soldered point connecting that contact pin to the motherboard or something else melt and thereby resulting in the contact pin slide inward.
I have a couple of issues after re-assembly. I was removing the touchpad from the motherboard and the cable came undone from underneath it, not from the motherboard itself.
What could be problem else? At least one flat ribbon cable which runs from the power button board to the motherboard and speaker cable.

Is this what will happen if polarity is reversed on dc power connector? I recently replaced my motherboard with a refurb from an Ebay paavilion.
I found a link that says I should deinstalled the drivers ho installed new ones. So that is why I think drive has a power but no data connection with Windows.
Try the above mentioned fix from Microsoft. Do not apply arctic silver on thermal pads, just install them as is.

I guess you can take a closer look at the damaged ports, and if you find any number printed on the ports try searching on Google. I only removed the rams and my hard drive and I only bluetoothh until step Nothing shows up on the. Hold down the Fn key and at the same time tap on the F8 key. Can you get any image at all? Which kind of screwdriver did pavvilion use to open those special 2 screws in step 5?? Make sure they are seated correctly. I would test the hard drive.

If i interprete this bluetoth, this indicates an empty battery. Except now instead of restarting over and over it just sits there and the power light starts to blink.
I did all the steps and I ended up with the problem stated below about not being able to turn on my laptop.
